Thanks for the compliments. Let us all praise Harley for inventing vrod headlight because it is the only one fitting perfectly for buell IMO. Vrod mount was not what i wanted and didn't want any brackets in my gold forks so I made bottom mount conversion

Next I could show my magic oil tank. I think some of you wants to see it 😉

I planned to do harley style cylinder type oiltank, like this...

Nononono 🤔 Like this...

But large hand came from the sky and forced little wisdom in my fat head 😶 Oiltanks place is not there, its far from it. It is front of the primary cover. First I made mockup bracket

Then real one from 12mm steel

Then I started to form actual tank from steel sheet

You keep impressing me more and more every time you post pics of your build. Extremely nice work, your tig and fab skills are brutally impressive. Your engineering game is bar none as well. Way to go man, can't wait to see what you get into next.

Thanks, you know that contractive criticism is allowed also I'm pretty pleased for results because this my first motorcycle. This buid has been nice trip and it has taught me so much. Machining and tigwelding are just couple of the things I've learned during the process. So how about some flying hot metal chips I milled the upper tripple flat and used Renthal fatbar clamps

Welding made it look like crap but finish was smooth. More flying aluminum chips cause I turned cup for the tachometer. I wanted one big round gauge kind of cafe racer style and original tacho was perfect for it. Results...

Then rest of the parts and some welding

Speedometer is also very handy tool for avoiding win in the police lottery, tickets are huge here in Finland. I wanted to use motoscope mini from Motogadget. It is very beautifully made and works great. So I machined bracket for it from aluminum and made it as unoticeable I could

It got anodized black and then added some leds and resistors for the idiotlights.

Finally casted all in epoxy...

I've been pretty busy and had to take little time off from this forum but now i'm back. I think that the shifter and its linkage is so ugly that I had to put it on the bike. Also made ****er little longer for my size 13-14 ballerina shoe... Oh, and turned new bushings from tinbrass

Then pulleys and timing cover got my treatment. Lathe turned for a long time... Also chopped the camcover

It is so old to chop your rear pulley isn't it 😊 I had to made it my own. So flipped it and turned one side off. Then added some bolts for the final touch

Turned these brass covers for ugly axle

I put some miscellaneous details to this reply. Pictures which I'm too lazy to explain. Ask more if something interests

Ecus new location. Ass was so tight that it had to be relocated 😃

Gas cap got partly anodized and partly wrapped

Some diy bar end indicators

Polished pipes. Stock welds were so crappy and wall thicness so tiny that I had to left them little unfinished. No mirror finish here then 😑

Then its time for the final touches. Frame, shifter, swingarm, triple trees and some tiny bits got powder coated black. Everything else I painted in my tiny chamber that I made temporarily.

First some primer. Acidprimer for aluminum parts and epoxy for everything else. Sorry for the photos

Black is Mipas superblack and gold is Volvos saffron gold. It has really nice shift in direct sunlight

Finally coated everything with seven coats of scratch resistant clear. Carbon fiber parts got matte and gloss clear...

Finished everything with flat polishing. Sanded from 1000 to 4000 grit then cutted with Mirkas Polarshine. That was only one that worked with scratch resistant clear

Oiltank I wrapped with 18 karat gold for reflecting heat away

Jauhoparta that black is awesome i need to refresh some of my black now i have my bike the way i want it! The gold heat shield looks cool too and i hear it works really good, well done mate! :eagerness:

Sadly i dont have time to show everything so detailed as i would like to so here are pictures from the finished (for now) product. Everything works fine. Had some problems with fuelpump but its solved for now...

Mate that black makes it look sooooo SEXY!! i really like the Matt and gloss finish of the "Buell" logo on the tank, The bike is AWESOME! enter it for the 2017 calendar when the time arrives and i will vote for it!! :eagerness:
