So I know there are many post on here about this (i have read them all); however, most of the post have out of date or broken links.

My 2001 x1 rear shock went bad, called the local harley/buell dealer and they said they can't rebuild them any more and I would need a new shock about $900. I have found some online for about $700. If I can I would like to spend less than that(I am a college student = not much money ). If anyone has any links to shocks or anyone on here has one that is in good condition for sale, please let me know.

Thank you

Some were recalled... Might want to check with your dealer again. There are a couple companies rebuilding them but for a little less than a new works or Pendleton shock.

I really hope so... I was seeing them on ebay used for 100 bucks... but that was during the school year and i didn't have 100 to spend. Now that I have some money to spend they are no where to be found. I was sorta hoping someone on the form would have one for sale.

Citizenx,

The shock on my 2001 X1 is also bad, so I've been looking around to see what my options are.

It looks like a couple of guys on BadWeb have had their OEM shock rebuilt by Race Tech.

Here's the breakdown:
- Labor- $105.00
- SPNV 0512- $14.99 Nitrogen Valve Needed to fill shock with nitrogen.
- SSOS 14S- $19.99 Oil Seal /Dust Seal Set
- SMSB 1410- $9.99 Bushing
- US1 PT- $14.98 Oil

The Gold Valve kit (SMGV S4603S) runs - $159.99

Called them, they said to send it in with my info in the box. they will call me with a quote (normally around $180) and then it takes 3-5 business days and they will send it back to me.

Thanks for everything

PS if i can find someone to send it off for me (i am 2k miles from my bike at the moment) I will let you guys know how they do when I get back home.

Thats pretty damn affordable. I may have to go that route myslef until I can afford a Penske!
