I just took my firebolt to the shop to get a minor electrical problem with the instrument cluster fixed, and a few days later(now) there is a clearly audible popping noise coming from the engine at low rpms(2000-2700). I never heard it in the year that I have had the bike, and it seems in synch w/ the normal engine noise. Also it recently got hot where I live(about 90 F), im not sure if that has anything to do with it. The bike still runs the same, I just dont want to ride it if something is going on inside that needs fixed. Any suggestions?

Sounds almost normal if it pops when you are decelerating. I think with the outside temp getting up its keeping the exhaust hotter and is slightly backfiring in the header. I'm not 100% sure but I want to say the fuel map is fuel rich around 2000-3000 rpm depending on what mods you have if any.

Sounds pretty normal for these bikes,I wondered about mine when it started doing this after having it for a year or so but found that it is a normal thing,it will do it more often depending on the outside temp, don't worry about it unless your bike starts acting worse.

Well, it also depends on what "popping" is. It's really difficult to discern one person's "pop" from another person's "pop." There are so many noises these engines can make. Some are normal and some are not so normal. Definitely check your oil. When it's hot, it could use oil a bit more than normal.
