2004 xb12s to xb12ss seat

Has anyone done this? I want the longer/bigger seat, but dont mind keeping the swingarm short. Is this as easy as just swapping out the frame-rails and underside back there? Any pictures from people who have done this? I tried to search, but I am horrible with the search function on this website.

Here is Nitto12ss's write up for the opposite but he shows some good indepth reasons between the two along with side by side shots. He might even still have the old parts and be willing to sell them to you, instead of buying new or searching for eveything.

Thanks Xlow, knew I could count on someone with better search abilities and the memory of the thread.

Now does anyone have a picture of the bike where this has been done? I am curious if the longer seat would look ridiculous with the short swingarm. I want the solo seat on it. Kinda thinking/hoping for a little motard look?

IMO you will regret doing a Ss tail, without doing a swingarm swap. It will feel like you are hanging out in no mans land with the longer tail. I know it would be the same size as a firebolt but it would look like one big ass aftermarket seat. If you don't mind the look a Firebolt tail might look a little better.
