My coveted 2005 XB9SX (~18K) is up for a complete part-out. I love this bike, I've put tons into it and am a full-on Buell fan. I wanted to get a second bike next year that's more wife friendly but while having the engine rotated to wrap the header at the end of this riding season, I noticed the header studs needed replacing. I got 3 of the 4 studs out and replaced -- except for one of the rear ones which broke off flush. I have no tolerance for replacing the rear header or taking it to a machine shop to get drilled given that this would have been my second bike so I'll be the owner of just one bike as of next season. And you get all the parts you need for your winter project. ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING is up for sale on this bike (including a junk title that goes with the frame). (Unless you're in Chicago-land and think you can come fix this for less than $300....)

**I WILL POST PICS AND PRICES BY THIS WEEKEND ** Sorry, I'm traveling and am just making the decision to part this out. Follow this post and show love now, and I'll respect those who post dibs/firsts as my prices will be fair.

Some Notes:
*Yes, bags are for sale also. I actually have two complete sets. The second, nicer set was a more recent purchase.
*I also have the gas-mask for the gask-mask mod (I was going to do it this winter)
*I also have a black translucent touring windscreen
*This has an installed and working HID kit with custom relays (I was an auto-alarm/electrical technician in a past life - everything is heat shrunk)
*Their's a K&N filter and open filter mod
*It has a crank-case breather mod with catch-can
*The tires are relatively new Dunlops (less than 500mi)
*I have a spare set of race tires, one of them was patched
*I'd ideally like to sell the engine and trans as one unit
*PCV breathers and gromets are new
*Rocker box gaskets are new (hey -- the engine was rotated, you might as well)
*I have new premium plugs for it
*I have the OEM mirrors (the ones pictured are after-market)
*I have 2 ECMs (1 is race-programmed, I have to USB-ECM cable)
*The Jardin exhaust is not for sale... the packing fell out and it has a crack
*The bike is in Chicago-land. I'll meet people if its convenient in Chicago or Northwest Indiana. (I live in one and work in the other.)

The Blue photos are the bike as purchased and before being mod'd. The blacked-out "Terminator" is how it is now after the new plastics, tail-chop, crank-case breather mod, open-airbox mod, and black-out paint on the rear-tail and front-windscreen.

And yes, those are the Aprila mirrors (I have the lolipop old ones.)

I'll take the left rider peg if you want to sell right now I'm in Bloomington il

~$3800 - which includes spare tires, spare plastics, the nice big bags, a second set of smaller bags, a spare ECM, the gas mask, and the spare loli-pop mirrors. A fully-parted Buell (included extras/spares) is between $4,500-$5,200. It all depends on far it gets broken down. (Example: I've seen engine+trans for ~$1500, but when you part it out to the pistons, starter, rockers, headers, etc. you'd bring in more like $2,500). I'd be up for not having to break this down further for ~$1000 less.

As for the rider peg, you've got dibs. Prices will go up soon (I'll try to do them before the weekend, especially if response is good.)

How much for the newer set of tail bags I want all three like the bottom picture and I'll take both driver pegs of he doesn't want them.

Can you send me a pm with the cost of the chin fairing mount kit - if you start parting it out please?

I'll take the primary cover, toe shifter, and those Aprila mirrors, if they're up for grabs. If not, I'll take the lolipop ones. [cool]

Front end for me. Lights, brackets, triple clamp, bars. All the pieces for the r to s conversion for the front end.

[confused][confused][confused][confused] What a cool bike! I agree with Sparky, WHY WHY WHY part out a nice bike? a broken stud? seriously? Maybe im an A-hole for saying so, but I hate to see a perfectly good bike get parted out like that. Maybe its just me, I saved another members bike and rebuilding it this winter after he wrecked it, BROKEN FRAME,, im rebuilding the whole thing, gonna be sweet, but parting over a broke stud? [confused]

I am in the market for odds and ends,,,,,,as i have a lot of projects, but please people for the love of all thats holy please stop parting out your bikes. Jeezus, Mary and the orphans,,,,,, what has our society come to? On another gearhead list people are bitching that many NEW lawnmowers dont have an oil drain plug, Use 'em up, throw away.
the Walmart infection and virus grows and grows. Last year talked to an old Russian guy, was PISSED off Home depot and Lowes dont sell replacement mattress springs individually, where he was from, you took apart your mattress box spring section and replaced each spring individually, Why would you throw it out? Rebuild it!!!

You guys are depressing me. :(:(
