I don't understand your statement.

However, giving it throttle while trying to start is a bad idea and could cause it not to start. The problem is worse when there is a weak battery and/or cooler temperatures.

if i shut the engine off and restart it while the engine is still warm it wont start unless i give it gas. and i had the pump tested and its good.

That's usually the symptoms for a dying battery.

If it's warm and hard to start, does it usually end up not starting at all? Weak battery, weak spark, wet plug from fuel, no spark, flooded. Leave it, it dries, battery builds up another charge and you're good.

Really, get out of the habit of giving it gas until it's actually started.

the battery is only about a month old. and its not a cheap battery. yes it starts but i wont stay running if i let off the throttle

Did this start about the same time it got the new battery?

a month, 200 miles ago

What brand/model battery is it?

So tonight i did a tps reset AGAIN and took i for a drive annd whenever i wold come to a stop light the rpms would not go below 2200 unless i let the clutch out with it in gear and then it would go down but at the next stop light it did the same thing. When i would pull it down with the clutch the rpms would stay where they are suppose to?

Did you check idle screw? Also an intake leak would do this right? Spray carb cleaner (or whatever) around your intake, if you have a jump in RPMs you have a leak. Vacuum/intake leak or rpm idle adjustment is my guess.

Man you need to read my post. Exact same problem but because Im not a lifetime Bueller nor do I plan on staying my posts dont get much attention. You should read, my bike has been flawless now.
