So I just recently changed the plugs on my xb12 in May. Since then it has ran a bit sluggish with some bogging and backfiring. I figured it may have been old gas (from February), so i treated with seafoam. a few rides later that backfiring got much worse, made it to the end of the driveway and then back to the garage. I checked my battery connections and charge, and it's all tip top at 12.3v and connections are tight. Checked fuses and im all set there too. Now when I try to start, I turn ignition on and can hear fuel pump start up, and engine turns over but it sounds like its not getting any gas. Not even a little bit to chug a little during start up. Are my plugs already fouled? (race ECM runs rich!) Or do you guys think it might be a fuel/fuel line issue?

Do you own tools? Mechanically adept?
Buelltooth dongle and ECMDroid would go really far in diagnosing it. My crystal ball is a bit foggy. Or is that my brain?
The ECM shouldn't "run rich". No matter whats printed on it.

I don't l know but, in your case it might very well be, the foggy brain syndrome!

Did you actually take all your ground wires off, including both battery terminals and clean them, apply an anti corrosive, reinstall? Don't go by what they visually look like, that's how I got stuck and, the wife wasn't happy about missing her nail appointment!

do the simple "add fuel" test as a starting point. remove airbox cover....remove airbox inner lid....with either a tiny amount of gasoline or starting fluid fog the throttle body with throttle held wide open.
now try to start. does it run for a second or 2? if so you problem is fuel delivery. if not it's fouled plugs/ignition loss.
report back with findings.

That's a great start point! I will give it a shot when I'm home from work.
