I'm interested in a 2007 XB12Ss and I'm wondering what improvements have been made viz the current model. (Oddly, I can't find a thread on this using Search. Might be buried under a different topic name.)

I've ridden the bike and like it's riding position very much and I prefer the feel of the ZTL front brake to the ZTL2 of the 1125R for street use - it was not as abrupt.

The engine changes are what I'm curious about; a bearing was embiggened and redline increased by 300 rpm, I believe. Is the change for longevity or power?

Thanks,

- Charlie

the improvements i know of are, larger diameter crank pin, higher volume oil pump, which now runs directly off the crank instead of #2 cam gear.the fuel injection is now closed loop.couldnt tell you if the later is an improvement.I own a 12scg 08 model.I also own a very modified 99 sportster s model.the only real problem ive had is the cooling fan blows fuses and has been replaced under warentee twice.the buell is still in stock configuration and has run great otherwise.Im wanting to modify but lack of ecm prevents me ,at least so far.the hd dealers are starting to tell people the ecm isnt required but dont believe it.without manipulating the electronics there is no way an e.p.a. fuel system will decide to deliver more fuel.im looking foward to a system coming that richens the whole fuel curve by changing the signal from the o2 sensor.Even stock its a great bike in many ways.
