Hello,

I am new to the whole Buell (Air Cooled V-Twin) thing, just bought a 2008 XB12R w/ 450 miles; however, today during three separate cornerings it stalled under acceleration. This stall takes place around 1/4 - 3/8 throttle (moderate Roll-on), like carburetor pilot circuit transition to needle jet is lean. So, my question is this normal, has anyone else experienced this, what can I do? Do I need to let it warm up longer? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It tends to hiccup a bit in the low RPMs when its cold. Iv never personally felt my 08 12R stutter in a corner. I would say that if these corners were taken shortly after you started your ride, and you didnt let it warm up then that would be the cause.

Also about what revs were u at? If im really railing It I dont think it ever drops below 3500 revs.

I only have to guess at the RPM's, I am getting back in to riding the street, until recently I raced MX and only was concerned with throttle position and gear.

I'll let it warm up longer tomorrow and see how it goes, thanks.

Have you done any aftermarket or homebrew mods?

Did this all happen when you first took off riding?

My bike will hicup and almost stall when I take off and start to lean at a stop sign within the first or second turn when I leave my house every morning.

What I do to stop this is slip the clutch like if you were on a jap bike taking off from a stop and keep the revs up slightly...but only for the first two turns I take from my house.

After that go back into Buell torque monster mode and never slip that thing, just dump it, pop wheelies from a standstill like no other and go on your merry way :)

Maybe try some higher octane gas, check/replace your plugs if needed, and do the breather re-route. (Breather re-route can be found here: New Bueller Info. Also check with dealer if the ECM is needing any re-flashes.

Welcome to the Forum :D[up]

Re route is good for engine life, but it doesnt really do much for the 08's. But like Steve said dont run anything less than 93 if u can help it.

Thanks for the help and suggestions. Yesterday and today, she was warmed up really well and did not exhibit any stalling. I put 120 miles on her this weekend, lots of fun.
