I just bought a 2008 Firebolt and I already want to upgrade the bike?
Can I get by with just a Jardine and a K&N filter but no ECM upgrade?

Im not sure if the Race ECM will void the warranty thats why im asking.

As of right now, Buell does not make a Race ECM for the '08's yet. I would expect to see it in the spring. Techlusion is working on a tuner at the moment. Still in development.

I have sent a few 08's down the road with Jardine's and a K&N without any problems. So you are clear there.

B.P.G. Have you ever checked the A\F ratio on a 08 firebolt xb12r with the jardine on it.I can't find a programmer or tunner for my bike no where. But i have to ride my bike to work because gas is killin me right now.So should i take the pipe off and wait or just ride out.

Well i looked high and low on there web site and only found this

9301 - Dobeck Techlusion ’’Electronic Jet Kit’’
99-07 Dobeck Techlusion "Electronic Jet Kit" for all Fuel injected Buells (tuber or XB). Attaches directly to the signal wires of the fuel injectors and only modifies the duration of the fuel signal. Includes a connection to the O2 sensor so it works well with the closed loop Buell FI system. Needs no computer for adjustments. Has 4 adjustment pots for tuning the analog of the Idle/cruise Mix, Accelerator Pump, Top End, and the RPM point at which the system transitions from mid to high.

FOR RACE USE ONLY, please see here

But it says right there its only for 99-07.I asked them if it would work on my bike and they said they don't know but one is in the making for the 08.So if there making one for the 08 then it must be different right?

Don't put anything on your bike until it says it is specifically made for your year. It could screw things up with the motor.

EMCSPY has a program, a new one that does the '08's, but it is hard to find from what I hear. But that way you keep the stock ecm and remap it to basically be a race ecm.

My friend has a Jardine exhaust and no problems at all, it still responds great etc. What are the benefits of an aftermarket EMC?[confused]

That's a pretty BS reply there LeFox. I believe bevo may be looking to discuss something rather than use the search tool.

I'm looking for an ECM (or alternative) at the moment. I have just the jardine and nothing else right now...I get a bit of low end chug and skip, but it doesn't stall or anything. Most of the chugging is only noticable when the engine is cold, after I get going, I don't really notice any difference other than some slight skipping when I gun it hard. So, you should be fine...albeit my bike is an '03 9R, but it should affect your bike more adversly than mine

i pute a d&d and a K&n on my bike and got the program from american sportbike it didnt work at first so the harley shop sent mine back to them and the re worked it now my bike runs great so im shure they should have it out by now
