2010 Buell xb12 xt goes high rpm when hot

hello everybbody

nice to have such support from you all
i bought 2010 Buell xb12 xt model from Japan 19000 km on it

just after riding some kms i noticed that when the engine is getting hot it will not start or starts after several attempts and there is such symptoms

1) the rpm goes 2000-3000 and the engine light is on,
2) during this time the throttle is not responsive and i feel the smell of fuell,
3) in some cases it will **** down, but most cases after a minute of working it is getting in its normal way and i can drive till the next time i try to start the engine

it happens when the bike is hot

self-diagnostic shows code 56

please advise where to look, what to do to understand what is happening to my bike

great place to start is by initiating ONE THREAD ONLY when seeking help.

i bought 2010 Buell xb12 xt model from Japan 19000 km on it
exported? likely history of being subjected to flooding and salt water attacks. most are.

self-diagnostic shows code 56
always a failing ECM. check ECM electrical connectors and dedicated ground but always a failed ECM.

the bike was not flooded and there are no signs of water

actually the bike works, only sometimes when it hot it will not start normally

and when it starts the engine light goes on and RPMs goes 2000-3000( at this period i cant apply gas , it stops, )

after some time the bike works fine again


also advice who have experiance with code 56? what can be the problem?

Just a WAG here but..... You may want to reread Barrett's comments. YOu may find what code 56 means and in the process fix the problem. Good luck!

I looked up code 56 in a Buell service manual I downloaded online for free, and it is discussed in depth on pages 2-74 and 2-75.
