What do you guys think of the new 2014 Yamaha FZ-09, it looks like a pretty sweet bike. Although I'm not a fan of the new odd looking headlights.

You get decent power, decent looking bike, and a lot of technology for $8k.

I hate to say it may replace my Daytona one day, especially since I'm really not a fan of Yamaha, but this bike has been on my radar since I first saw it!!!

I can't imagine not having my xb but lately I've been wanting something more "refined". I doubt I'll switch but would be REALLY REALLY NICE to have a liquid cooled bike.

I like it!!!

I had an 04 FZ6 years ago. Great highway bike!!

I really like that FZ9. And that's an awesome MSRP!

I rode the 13 fz8 and it felt great. Only complaint would be the handle bars are angled inward and felt awkward. The new 14 fz9 i have to imagine they figured out the flaws. Its in my top list of next bikes to get

I'm genuinely excited about a Japanese bike for the first time in a while. I want to demo one bad just to see what that crossplane motor feels like. I won't trade or get rid of my XB but I am intrigued by the technology.

Besides, I'm saving for an XT anyways [smirk]

I just add to the stable. Between me and my roommate we have 6 bikes.

Looks nice,I want to check one out when they come out. Price is good, low to midrange power, light weight, from the pictures riding position seems good. I have been looking for something since my Lightning was totaled. Just hope I can afford the insurance.

Buddy of mine picked up an orange one a few weeks ago. He's absolutely in love with it. I'm hoping to take a spin on it at our next group ride.

A friend of mine bought one almost 3 months ago. Twice now we have swapped bikes out riding and the only complaint I could find is the fuel injection just off idle is a little abrupt, ok the exhaust is almost silent also. Other than that, the bike Rocks! Excellent power, ultra smooth shifting, small and flickable through the twisties. And he got his for $8k out the door.

My brother has a new fz8. Actually a pretty nice bike, smooth, fast, pretty cool.

I have only taken a test ride when the Yamaha Demo truck was in town. Nice bike, comfortable, easy to put into the turns, but I will have to agree with DamMechanic. The throttle response felt rather abrupt. As I was following the Yamaha demo lead, when I let off the throttle, it felt almost like I was hitting the brake. As I rolled on the throttle, there is little reaction for a moment, then the power kicks in suddenly, almost like the bike was not paying attention then snaps to.

... And it sounds like the engine should be hooked up to a bubble machine...

Typical crappy throttle response on a Yamaha. I've read it has to do with Euro emissions.

I had a 2006 FJR1300 and it was horrible. Even a Powercommander could only help it so much....

Such a shame to read about this still with Yamaha. The FZ-09 (and new FZ-07) seem to be a great bang for the buck bike.
