So now that I have released this and am ready to get the parts going, tell me what you think of the final selling price of $135 (before discount). It seems competitive to me. Let me know what you think.

I guess I dont know your margins on this nor do I expect to. It seems to me like you are trying to make some money which is fine. I would expect you are trying to make at least 100% on them. If you are below that then hats off to you. If you are just making a huge margin on them then I would suggest lowering it in an attempt to sell more numbers. Just based on the fact of how long it took to get 15 people to bite at a price of $105.

Nice little optimization problem here.

Thanks Kona! Definitely not making a huge margin but not giving them away either. ;) I thought 6 days was pretty decent to reach 15 (actually 16) orders so my thoughts are that the market will definitely bear more than the discounted price. Just looking for a fair market value of it. If the discounted price is all that it will bear then it honestly wouldn't be worth it for me to take on the financial risk, burden, liability, etc. Thanks for your thoughts! [up]

I think its reasonable price. Their is a similar company that's sells a similar product for $210 + shipping. So I think you are in the right area if u are doing it for half that and still make profit.

...and considering there is only competitor sliders for the 03 models costs over $200, I think the $135 is fair. It doesn't neccessarily matter what a competitor has, unless it has the same application, which the T-Rex ones don't.

To me, the $135 price is fair. That is, assuming the machining and anodize are of high quality (which I have no doubt they both are based off of your other items).

It will probably be wise to offer the delrin components as separate items in the future so one can replace these items in the event of a spill.

Thanks guys! As always, I appreciate your feedback![up]

Deeply discounted price is still on for at least the rest of today so if you want a set at this priced jump in! [cool]

Wouldve if my bike wasnt wreck! :(

Could you provide a side profile picture of each side?

Loki: side as in straight view of the motor from the side? The shots I posted were pretty close to that but I might be able to take more tonight if you want. Please confirm.

Firefighter: if I do pull it tonight I'll make an exception for you since you showed interest from the get-go. Thank you!

like this.

I'll see if I can stage something up tonight. Probably won't be on the bike though since I only have plastic prototypes at this point.

Here's a pic for starters. I got to ride today so the bike was at work! [up] Gonna be 72° today!!! [cool]

I don't currently have the proper hardware to mount it up but you get the idea.

I also don't own a 2008+ XB so this is the best I can do with a pic for now. This shows the approximate location of the slider (width-wise on the bike). Don't worry, I had a Buell buddy of mine take some good measurements for me so I know it's good. ;)
