^^^ That was my first thought ... the intake seals on my S1 were trash when I first got it ... Could be a stopped up petcock as well ... (slim chance but it could be something that could have been overlooked) ...

Okay so just checked the intake seals with carb cleaner and there was no change in the idle, any other ideas on what to check?

Did the 97 m2 have fuel injection? My 97 S1 was still cv carb so theres nothing that a temp sensor would adjust

Its carbureted, i just got new plug wires like 2 months ago, if the coil is going out does that mean it would have fried the wires, and replaced the plugs last week.

@cosworth i took the coil to a shop my friend works at and they said it was fine, but could it be fine till it heats up then it starts to fail?

Its very possible for the coil to only show bad once it gets hot. If you can take a ohm reading when its cool then get it hot enough to start dying and take another ohm reading. This will eliminate or confirm the coil diagnosis.

A bad coil wont hurt the plug wires but its a good time to put new ones in when your in the coil area. But it sounds like you've already done that so I wouldnt worry about it.

I think you have a fuel restriction, posibly a bad line or petcock. Pull the hose with fuel in off the turn it on see what your flow looks like. Do this at the tank and the carb, its also possible you have water in the bowl.
