Got gas?? Not tryin to insult ya but we had a car I our shop (still there actually) last week with the same symptoms. After a few hrs. of diag we went to empty the tank to try fresh gas and ta-da... Tank was bone dry. Just a thought.

Hi interested if you figured this out, I have a similar issue, just got a 99 S3T had it shipped so the fuel was drained, idles ok but mine runs fine before I get into rough running and sometimes a back fire on throttling down , thanks David

If carbed check carb diaphram. Might have a hole in it. Also check main jet for clogging

Had a similar problem with an S1. Would start and idle great, but when I put the bike in gear and tried to drive away it would sputter out and die. Turns out, it was a bad kick stand safety swith. Some kind of short in the switch. Got a new switch, problem solved. Try connecting the two wires that go into the switch to close that circuit, see if it makes a difference.
