hi....................we use a lightened XB 9 crank...................around 3 Kg of weight has been stripped......standard pushrods.............JE forged dome piston (made for me).......Revolution perf. Nicasil......= 1208 cc................same bore as for my 1430 cc engine (has a XB12 crank and more volume in the heads and flat top piston).......never used Axtell..........why use a sleeved cylinder when you can have better heat transfer, bigger bore with a Nicasil cylinder.........stability is no problem.............we totally sacrificed the bolt in the case between the cylinder and this is no problem what so ever.......Lucky builds loads of engines every year and there are no issues.
The 1208 engine has been build according to my specs and with loads of additional parts made by Tom with my designs.
I am just expecting a new cylinder set to build the next generation of my 1208 engine................I will use a 2005 XB 12 case.............cams of the 2008, cam cover 2008.............crank XB9 2008 lightened with Carillos............top end and primary as like my current 1208 motor, XB RR alternator setup and Magnesium RR primary cover................lightened gearbox and ceramic bearings.................The intention is get a mechanically sound engine that avoids the crank failure issues of the older cranks and have a better oil pump...............I just checking if the 585 screaming eagle cams are available for the 2008 type engine............my 1430 goes like stink with these cams..............and the 1208 has them as well......I had a little disaster with the Rev Perf cams...........valves touched during a dyno run.........bum.........we have been able to salvage the situation....... so now only screeming eagle.................and in case they don't make them for the new type engines I will have them made myself............
