A merkin for my GoPro

Here is a test of the Micover wind noise suppression device on my GoPro Hero2. I went around the block on my S3, with and without the Micover, while the camera was mounted on top of my helmet. The highest speeds were probably about 50 mph. I don't see much difference, but it is probably worth the $20 I paid for it.

I have a Bose companion 5 sound set-up and it was hard for me to tell much of a difference.. maybe a bit quieter up to 50+/-.. the bike sure sounds good though is that the factory race can?

Thank you. The muffler is a White Bros, and personally, I think it is too load and annoying. I have plans on replacing it, soon. I like the sound of the Hawk on my XB much better, but maybe I'm just getting old.[smirk]

Just got a chance to listen to your vid... Yea... that thing doesn't seem to make much difference.. other than boosting your cameras confidence with the appearance of pubes! I thought a friend was messing with me till I googled merkin.

Oh, yeah.. that has been my experience with them too.. I think you will like NwRiders pipe, seems to me that it's quieter than a jardine, has a very nice tip placement/design and should last forever..

I'll bet that merklin would help with "static" wind reduction some, but it occurs to me the only way to completely eliminate the noise would be to go with a remote mic inside your helmet.. then you have the option to narrate footage.

I tore off the ends of a Q-tip and taped over the mic holes. Seems like it helped some, but I still get some clicking on occasion. I also put a small rubber boot over the front button.

^^^Good idea.. Even with the "water proof" rear cover mine still whistles... I bet its the front button. A nice big vacuum cap would work nicely.

The clicking on my GoPro was from the front button on the camera itself. I cut a piece of plastic film that is used to protect the touch screen on a cell phone, and put it inside the case.

The button still works and no more click.
I like the Q-tip idea, I will have to try it.
