So i finaly got around to raising my idle speed from 750 to about 1200. cured my common coughing stall problem at lights. Now the issue is that the bike will rev up but the RPMS hang and dont want to drop like they used to normaly. If I rev in neutral to say 2,000 the rpms will sit there for about a second or two. While cruising it feels like I have cruise control on, and sometimes I will just click it into next gear just to drop the rpms. I haven't gotten around to getting en ECmspy cable yet.(new to that whole ballgame).
Anyone have any suggestions?

Will try that tomorrow morning. Somehow my idle adjustment screw got all hacked away by the previous owner and all im left with is a 1/4 length of the steel cable and a bent back bracket that the screw goes thru. any tips on adjusting the 2 throttle cables as well?

i havent done it yet but at the top of the page there is a link to the service manual that should be able to walk you through it

hope that helps you

the manual also calls for the idle to be set after you reset the TPS then set idle to 1050 to 1150 RPM. if you have 2007 or older then you need the ecm spy cable to reset the TPS. if you have a 2008-2010 you can manually reset without the cable

If your idle is to high (1200rpms) then it will hang around the 2000rpms, try lowing it to about 950 -1000rpms.

mine does the same thing.. i like it riding a little high cause then i never burp in first while trying to go super slow for whatever reason.. usually i can just rev it high with the clutch and it will drop back down, but to agree with what everyone is saying when i drop it back down to around 1000 it doesn't have the problem.. lesser of two evils for me.
