adjustments at 10k?

I just hit 10K miles on my 04 XB12S and want to know if there are any major adjustments needed, valves, primary chain, ect. I also saw pics of the XB models exploding from a worn oil pump gear at around 10k miles, ugly. are these things a pain to do yourself? I would appreciate any help. Thanks
