Advice for buell purchase

I am looking to buy a buell as my first bike in about 2-3 weeks. I love the look of the of the xb's but as a new rider im concerned about the right fit for me. I am 6 3 240 pounds. I will be taking the riders edge course before purchase and my qustion is, should i stick will the buell blast as a learning tool or move up to the xb9 or xb12ss.

I went straight for the 12scg... I can't recommend that strictly as a matter of conscience... but i can say. It is my first bike, I'm 5-11, 165 lb. and it is a blast (the feeling, not the bike). Be gentle with her any way you go... They are some tourqe-y beasts.

Trifecta, with as big as you are, I think the xb12ss would be an excellent choice for you. I'm sure after only a bit of riding, your going to want far more than what the blast has to offer.

However, never ride outside your experience!

Hey Trifecta,yea,I would go with a bigger bike than what the blast has to offer.You will only become bored with the bike and then regret it.If you do get a bike,maybe a track day would help you out.You can ride in a class of people that have the same ride time as you,get to know the bike,and no worries about cars or anything else for that matter.Just learn the bike at your own pace.Just my 2cents.
