Last tuesday I loaded a new map on my firebolt and my ecmspy and cable worked all well...yesterday all of sudden I still getting the failed to get com port error message. I discovered a broken cable, I fixed and checked all wiring and stuff and I'm still getting this error (failed to get com port!!!). Have this happened to one of you recently?? What did you do to fix it?? Updated drivers?? I even updated my ecmpsy to 1.12.27 (I've been using an older one for years!!!!). I do not understand what happened. Hope one of you have a fix for that. Best regards,

Franklin

Time to learn some new software, go find a copy of Tunerpro RT at www.tunerpro.net

The main difference that may be a deal breaker is, ecmspy writes to cells, tunerpro does not. I've heard this from a couple of different guys and what may end up happening is, with ecmspy, because of the fact that it writes to specific cells it _may_ brick your ecm.

Updated!!: I was checking connectivity and there's none with the yellow cable (which is ECM transmit), This is normal??? Do I buy a brand new usb-serial cable and reconnect everything??
Thank you guys

I discovered a broken cable...
Which cable was broken, and what did you fix?
Check Device Manager and be sure that Windows hasn't re-assigned the converter to a different COM port than ECMSpy is expecting. If you plug into a different USB port, get a new cable, etc, Windows will most likely have re-eunumerated it and you might have a different COM assignment. Without more info, we're really just guessing...
