I have an 06 xb9r, and would like to get a aftermarket seat. I know that buell has one on the website, but don't know how much difference that would be. I ordered one from corbin, but they never sent it to me. When I called, they said that it wouldn't fit my year. That doesn't make any sense to me. I called about it(after making sure they didn't charge me), and they just simply told me no, it wont fit! What other options do I have?

that's odd? when i ordered from them, they said they do one off stuff also. i think there is 2 outlet's from corbin, do a little digging and you might find someone from corbin to help you........... wait! i just remembered! if you send them your stock seat they will refoam, contour, and recover the seat with any of there avalible material they have. let me know what they say, i was told this about 3 year's ago when i got my saddle for my SV650.

yeah, I think I should not let that go. I will give them a call back tommorow, and ask to speak to a tech.

by the way, my corbin saddle far exceeded expectation's! it was worth every penny! and when i ordered my saddle, i asked about the passenger saddle, that's when the tech told me, we don't make a rear saddle but if you sent your's we would refoam, etc....be sure to post a pic when your done, can't wait to see result's! good luck!

I have the one that buell has on there sit and it is the greatest think. 2,3,4 hour rides with no butt problems. It was worth it

Hmm, just figured I'd pop in here, 2007 XB9SX stock seat, and I did a 7 hour trip with no problems, from Kentucky to South Carolina, only stopped for fuel. My seat is comfy enough for me. But hey, there is nothing wrong with wanting better than what you got.

You also have a City X Lightening and not a Firebolt. The Firebolt seat is like sitting on a piece of wood. The Lightening seats are much more comfortable than the Firebolt seats. I feel his pain I go an hour and my ass is killing me on my bolt. I need to get a nice seat for it someday.

Man my stock Firebolt seat is like a lazyboy compared to the Yamaha seat on my old bike. Iv rode 6+hours with not probs.

the trick is to find twisty roads to ride longer hours on...that way, you're always moving your butt and it doesn't start hurting.

cheap & more fun :D

LeFox makes a good point, and Dans, sorry about that, just letting you firebolt guys know, it's cool to come over to the darkside, same engine after all (9r-9s and 12r-12s) just different styling. At least ya'll are sharing info on how to fix the problem...ya'lls seat looks too much like work for me.

Hope you get a good seat dans, we all deserve be riding a comfortable testament to american ingenuity.

I love my CityX, and when I get an 1125R/1125CR (haven't decided which yet) I'm going to keep it and let my wife ride it. She has promised to learn how to ride when we get to Germany.

NO-NO bad burnteyes...bad....

Kentucky - Hillbillies.....

Georgia - Rednecks!

Both use ya'll...

I'M FROM GEORGIA!

Now you know...:D

I hate my firebolt seat...and was also thinking of the corbin. Please keep us updated with your ordeal. I will have to wait till next spring for mine.

thanks

Im Not to sure about Corbin but my aftermarket Buell seat is so great. There is a guy with a 12R factory seat and when he set on mine he was blown away by the deference. (he bought one the next week). Just my thoughts. Good luck with what ever you do.

Were your Gear, Asphault hurts!

why don't you find a local dealer?
I was about to modify my seat in the begining of the season. But i ran into some difficulties as all companies "seemed" so far away. Now i have find a local "maker" (to my surprise). Talked to him yesterday. If i do it, it's going to match my rear S.O.C. light and my new air intake dummy (looking from a side view). I showed him and he was possitve to the process of letting me look and also change ideas along the making. The gaps between frame and seat is going to be fixed (better). I also have the select seat, but i do not like it much. I heard corbin is bad fit? Haven't seen one though. Select seat has more gaps than original XB/s seat and it's also harder (for my skinny ass anyway).
