I hope you covered up the connectors going to the relay when you finalized the install. I'd be a little weary of exposed connectors.

Other than that - great job!

I am wanting to try this but the lack of space in the xbs tail might make an interesting mount for the compressor....Maybe I could put it in the airbox since its translucent and custom the inner shell so it exposes the pump? IDK might look badass its worth a try

Did the same on my Firebolt. The compressor should be mounted as vertical as possible because of the oil in it. The compressor is mounted next to the shock. The fitting used for the horn was a 1/8" mip x 1.5" nipple with 5/16" tubing from Home depot.

TerryS1980 Hey thanks for the input. [up] I figured with the way i ride... it will get oil tossed around. 1 year down and no problems yet. (fingers crossed)

Let me know how it does sitting next to the shock. I would be too scared of it shifting over but if it works great for you i might have to move my compressor next to the shock too.

Im going to do this soon. On the highway, I was cut off, layed on the horn, and after 2 or 3 seconds laying on the horn the moron finally swerved back into his lane.

Super easy if you wire the relay correctly! I can hear mine over my exhaust, which surprises me. I would love for it to be louder tho. Like twice as loud!

For you guys wanting to use the vinyl tubing but want it black, the last time I was at Lowe's, they carried black vinyl tubing...might be worth a look.

Thank you christianmb. [up] I got most of my supplies at The Home Depot and all they had was the clear vinyl tubing. Black would look much better so Ill have to give Lowes a call tomorrow to verify.

UPDATE: No problems to date. All my connectors are exposed and nothing to worry about haha. (I ride in the rain frequently too) I want to get the other style of horn on the red Firebolt pictured cause mine faces into the wind and I know that has to be cutting down the decibels.

I know this is an old thread but I saw someone said they used a 5/16th inch hose with a 1/8 MIP x 1.5 inch nipple. Went to home depot and thought no way would this fit. The old guy working there agreed. Does anyone know the proper size hosing and if or what size connector(s) you need? Thanks guys.
