I did the delete months ago, and I'm tired of the noise it makes. It was pretty cool to start with, but now that I have the pipe as well, its just too damn loud! Has anyone switched back to the regular airbox cover?

same experience for me, but it only took a day, hated the loud intake noise. i could barely enjoy my Drummer!

i went with '07 vented outer/inner covers and loaded '07 maps (then massaged). loved the trade off. still had good intake sound but not the ridiculous roar in my face non-stop.

I had my problems as well, I am happy that I switched back, at least you used the kit for a few months, I only had mine for a few days. I just stuck a piece of 3/8in hose throught he two holes left by the air-filter mounts. Done deal...

Hmm, thats odd... I actually love the sound of mine.

But I ride with a helmet all the time, so that really muffles the sound.

I love the sound, I'll take some pictures so you guys see how MUCH noise could possibly come out of this thing lol

I'm with only1reds, I love the sound it produces and I also have the open outer air box to boot.

I'm in the club, never really noticed an increase in the amount of intake noise. how many of you guys have the airbox snorkel? I could see how the noise may be more prevalent if ALL the air is entering at the airbox cover.

I don't wear plugs, but I do wear Ipod earbuds, therefore I don't hear too much noise that it becomes a nuisance.

Dave,
What year bike? Maybe if older, you can just go back to a stock, but newer model, more open airbox. I can't remember the year changes, but they have opened up more over the years (2 progressive steps, I believe).

Maybe just that with a better-flowing K&N filter will give you the intake flow for performance w/o the noise.

HTH.
