airbox delete

im trying to do the airbox delete on a 04 xb9r firebolt. I see it for the xb12r(see through cover and it looks like for years after 2006) can anyone give me advice on where to get the cover and kit. plz help

All the covers fit, doesn't matter what year. The difference is the little breather grate at the front of the airbox lid. I guess I misunderstood what you wanted in the email. Mine's all cut up inside but the inner airbox is still partially there and snaps down to hold the air filter in place.

isn't there a kit that changes all that. comes with a metal plate that holds it down and also comes with a rubber hose and a t nipple. does that vent in the front of the gas tank cover do much?

Its cheaper to make your own, but like oh9bolt said, americansportbike.com has kits.

I think those are home made. I made one for mine and took it off cause I didnt like hearing the thumping noise coming from my airbox. I have the one I made with the hardware if you want. I cut it out of a clear acrylic. Shoot me a pm if you want it.

Think I misunderstood you. Are you talking about the clear piece people put over the air filter for the airbox delete? Or, are you talking about the blue and red translucent Tank?
