Hello I have a quick question about modding my airbox. I have looked at the forums specific to this mod and can't find what I am looking for.

Here it goes. What is the valve that is cable actuated and sits on top of the upper airbox? If I choose to cut away all of the airbox except for the portion that holds down the filter, is it needed?

Here is the info about my bike.

'07 XB12Scg
Race ECM
Jardine Exhaust

I bought it this way and am assuming that the exhaust servo has been removed. Any help would be great.

The valve is in the exhaust. You can delete the exhaust valve servo but you need a part to fool the bike into thinking it is still there. ASB sells it.

Since you've got a Jardine exhaust & Race ECM, I don't think you need the servo emulator. The exhaust servo is useless sitting on top of your airbox.

Also, here's a similar mod to what you're talking about doing - Airbox Delete Thread

been awhile since I've messed with ecmspy cant you "turn off" the servo with ecmspy?

if you have the race ecm you dont need to fool it because the buell race muffler doesnt have the vavle in it. you can just unplug it, tie up the cable and go.

Yes, there's a checkbox somewhere in the program to tell the ECM not to look for the servo.
