So yes I have googled it but I'm still scratching my head about where I should mount my Stebel Airhorn. Debating trying to squeeze it in under the air box and hope that works even though I have a stock air box. Has anyone attached the Stebel without cutting the compressor off? I'm not sure I want to separate the unit. If anyone has any pics or comments on installing the Stebel I would greatly appreciate it. Thinking about just taking it down to the local bike shop and having them throw it on as its just sitting there waiting for my header and new tail light to come back.

Also does anyone know if you lose any Db when you do separate the compressor and run tubing? That is one of my worries.

I always wanted a stebel but dont know where to put it but i have the airbox delete so maybe it would fit there? mine in an 09 with the vented cover so sound loss shouldnt be a problem? not too up bolts but any room in the fairing? i dont know that separating the compressor is a good idea but i maybe wrong! keep us posted and good luck! I've seen some mounted to the air scoop or oil scoop thing. Both of those were separated tho. It would be a lot easier if I had the bike to try to mock it up. Its been over a week since I've seen her. I'm anxious to get her back.

The only other space i have seen used was for the electrics etc and they put them in a custom metal box in the space between the rear wheel and the rear mount bracket for the muffler its out of the way but would need to be sealed well obviously! Hope you get it back soon i mean you can live without the wife for a week but not the bike! lol :D

Luckily no wife so I have plenty of time for the bike once she's back. Haha. I might just try to find a way to attach it to the oil cooler since you can just buy a new one of those for like 17 bucks if I **** it up.

I just worry if I do it myself it'll come apart with the vibrations lol. Im leaning towards bolting it to the oil cooler shroud and using some loctite.

I just wonder if that will stick out a bit far but you will see when you try it, would it fit between the other side of the cooler under the voltage regulator maybe? you have an engine tie bar just there to mount to as long as you have tyre clearance through the full compression range of the forks obviously! ;)

Ya idk. I'll find some place to squeeze it once I get the bike back. I've only rode her once. I need to get familiar with her still.

I would split the airhorn. Mount the horn up under the front fairing and the compressor behind the battery in the tail. Clean descrete install.

Good idea law. Not sure if I would have the room after installing my HIDs. I will see if there's left over room when the time comes.

I may do a video. I doubt my cellphone would fully capture how loud it really is. I'm sure it'll be louder than stock. I'll see what I can do for you all.
