Well, I got frustrated when my speedo quit so started looking around at a new bike. Researched Triumph Speed Triple...nice, and a Brit, like me. BUT twice the insurance! (Toronto Canada)...next looked at a Triumph Thruxton. I like the Cafe' racer style, but the reviews don't read well. Low power, wobbly handling and poor brakes...heck - what else is there on a bike! Even looked at a new Buell, but don't want a mental 1125 CR (to quick for me!) and the others will ride like my current bike...
So, screw it, I still love my Buell...03 XB9S, Full race kit, Flat Renthals, bar end mirrors...just ordered an aftermarket seat...Buell still rocks!

Right on bro. Hopefully the quirks are all worked out of it and you can just enjoy the Ride. [up]

1125cr WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

I also really like the Thruxton 900 but have heard the same. But I will add a cafe racer to my garage one day, and not just the 1125.

park the bike in the shed , grab a cold beer and give it some of the tender stuff , get another beer and have a deep long look at one of the best looking bikes created. You will soon be overcome with riding lust.

yea there was a bolt on my bike that was loose the other day, so I went shopping for a new bike...

:D

I can understand your frustration ....especially if this isn't the first of problems... I think you made the right choice!! one thing you have to keep in mind is that no matter the make or model.. they all have problems....

Im not used to keeping cars or bikes very long at all. I'm still suprised by my Buell daily. Its kinda silly but I really hate chains after having a belt. Its one of my biggest turn offs when looking at owning other bikes. I maintain my bike and three others (all chains) and they suck..lol. I can change my oil in about 10min. Grunting ass torque I still can't get enough of. The only reason I would be looking for a new bike is if mine died, but she's still running like a champ.

CanadaXB,

I was also looking at the Triumph's (Street Triple R). Then, I saw Typeone's XB. Fell in love with it! Looked around for a used XB and bought it! Cost was also a factor. Wife talked me into getting something a lot cheaper. No regrets! Lovin' every minute I'm on it, admiring it everytime I'm off it.

Still, I would love to own one of 'em Brit bikes!

Maybe we can meet and go for a ride sometime. I'm also in Toronto.

Hey Fresh Rida,

The Street Triple R is a great bike...but one review decsribed the engine as looking like a sump pump - and I agree..
For sheer value the Buell always comes out ahead...and the performance is enough for me. The style is just so damn different..
A ride out sounds good - which part of Toronto are you? I'm out east in Durham region...let me know!
John

CanadaXB,

I'm in Scarborough but most weekends, I'm in Ajax hanging out with family! Just give me a holler whenever you feel like going for a ride. I'm definitely down.
