I had a set of SMX1 boots and hated the sole. the supertech R's have the same sole.
they were slippery in the wet and would slide on silt. I nearly dropped my bike because of the silt dust in a parking lot, not because of the tires but when I put my foot down it slid out from under me. same thing in a wet intersection at a red light.
Alpinstar boots are SUPER comfy tho, I picked up a pair of scout waterproof boots and they are perfect for street use in my opinion. all the comfort and a sole that grips.
