I'll have you know there are 4 guys for every 1 girl at tech!! haha. And just the baffle is wood. every other side of the "enclosure" is snow. Not optimal in any way shape or form, but its still pretty cool!

I grew up in the UP of Michigan, and have made several trips to the Winter Carnival. If you have the chance, GO! It's bad-ass. (Proven by the "sculpture" with no less then 64 subwoofers in it. WTF did you guys use to drive those, btw?)

And I just want to point out one thing. NMU Hockey FTW! [up]:D
 
This years set-up had 40 12" mtx thunder series subwoofers and then 24 18" regular woofers for the "mids" and then 4 loaded horn/tweeters uptop. There was a uhaul behind the set-up full of amplifiers used to drive them. Too busy with exams to help the AES (audio engineering society) guys set-up. I believe they had around 12,000 watts of power on tap at any given time. Which isn't alot for the set-up, but with that much cone area, it didn't matter. ha

this is from 08, the ones they build that you can dance on are the best. 08,09, and 10 we danced on top of them. i cant find the pics from 09 or 10 or 06 for that matter. im sure i have them somewhere. this was the first time in 5 years that i didnt go to carnival :( also notice we partied between the eerc and chem sci but now they have stupid flowers there and are all worried about the landscaping getting ruined so it got moved over by fisher where it is now.

I am sorry to hear that the winter carnival is not taking place any more because they are afraid that the flower beds could be ruined. I also love flowers and have some flower beds at home. If some of them are dead I just go and order flowers again. Anyway I am of the opinion that the flower beds won't be ruined afterwards. When I look at the pictures it seems that it always was great fun. Besides this the snow sculptures look fantastic.
 
what are you talking about not taking place, they would never get rid of carnival. they did move the location of where they put the speakers but the Wednesday all-nighter will always be a party.
