LOL...I realized the costs behind developing items like these...I didnt fall off a turnip truck yesterday. Besides I mentioned having a sweat shop in the states, not China. But the workers might be from China, or Mexico..etc.
Anyhow, I dont think were talking rocket science when developing a piece of plastic for my motorcycle. granted it must look good, withstand heat, and scoop air, and you have a perfect opposite side air scoop to help design your template. NO huge reason for scientists, and wind tunnels. It either works or it doesnt.
IN SHORT, no matter how you look at it..whether it be from a manufactering, retailers, up side down, cross ways...and MOST IMPORTANT "The consumers" point of view...its still $300.00 freakin dollars and that you cant shake a stick at.

For those who buy them "great". I may end up buying on for myself even though its so damn much... but will certainly never look at it and say, "That was the best $300.00 plus dollar buy I've ever made, and Im proud of the outstanding engineering, time, development and cost that went into this piece of plastic", because I wont. Its still $300.00 bucks for plastic. Thats all..

1. it's not plastic
2. as you make it sound it's like someone is trying to rip you off. if you look around, most of those 'pieces of plastic' are the same price.

but the worst thing for you (u.s.) guys is the dollar and the fact that most of the aftermarket stuff comes from outside the u.s.
think about 1.5 - 2 years ago that same piece was atleast 100$ cheaper. [smirk]

If the scoop truly looks like the one pictured in the link its worth the money. I paid $230.00 for one from American sport bike, by the time I make it look decent it will be worth $500.00. I would have gladly spent $60.00 more for one that was that nice.

All motorcycle parts are costly. I guess it goes with the sport. I have not found alot of stuff out there for Buells. So I'm not surprised things are a little high priced.
