And the mystery from a while back.

I messaged Erik to see if he could comfirm to whether the yellow bike was a concept 1190RR or vice versa.

He already confirmed that they were working on this 1190 when the plug was pulled. This is old news.

Man.. I really hope we see some bikes like this from Erik on the street in the near future.. I would buy one in a heartbeat!

I agree, i wonder if he had a no compete contract with Harley????

If so I wonder how Harley thought they could compete with a bike like that, they are not even close to being in the same class and definantly NOT going to attract the same market..

I would bet one of my Not-so-major organs that after a short time (when epa and dot standards are met) and a moutian of paper work has passed we will see an 1190 in street trim again.

yea lets hope so guys, harley cant keep his name and he uses nothing of harley anyway.actually they have used alot of his [buell] ideas in their bikes.

Bike will probably cost over $30,000

I'm sure the race spec one would but if there ever was a miracle and this was available for street I highly doubt Erik would over price it like the Italians or Harley

Just got this from Erik, although it is old news, but new to me [smirk]

Wonder who will be the first to mount up an 1190RR tail on thier street legal bike?

Erik Buell: February 28 at 11:29am,
It was a production-ready 2011 model actually.

Oh that's awesome.
A bike we'll never get to play with.
The pods were dealt with in a way that still vents properly, and the tail section looks like a million bucks cash.

It's like knowing you're going to die right before man figures out light speed, and knowing that you'll never see the cool stuff we discover.

I'm a disappointed nerd.

He also said that he will have a new bike in 4 years. Sounds like the exact length of a normal non compete to me.

I jokingly made a comment on his face book one time about a 1190 street bike and his comment back was he was only concentrating on race bikes for the next year or so. That tells me that after this year he may start attempting to make that thing a street bike.

Easy now Dave... You're going to mess around and give me hope over here.

I shall endeavor to persevere.

now when hd goes down again maybe they will sell out to a golfclub company instead of amf bowling pin company!!??

ok,ok my bad

Pick up the lastest Cycle World! I almost cried... Front Cover, The Death of Buell.

ya man i hear ya,it really just makes me wanna puke,,,on the front door of our hd dealership they never ever did their part to promote buell in any way just kept saying ''they just arn`t popular''.

really is a shame, but I believe there will be sport bikes from Erik again. Maybe under a different name but from Erik none the less.
