So I'm one of the new guys joining the ranks here. Just purchased this 2000 X1 beauty today. She's got a few miles on her but has been well cared for. Mostly stock but has a new paint job, Works rear shock and V&H pipe. Just needs new tires to pass inspections and then it's on the open road! You may see a lot of me since I'm gonna be attempting most/all of the maintenance myself... :p

Welcome to the forum! That's definitely a beautiful X1 and if you need any advice just search around the forum first because chances are it'll be a common problem (IE: front brake switch) and that someone else has had that problem too. Other than that though good luck and happy riding!

Thanks guys. @pur pony: Yeah the color really grabs your attention and the aftermarket paint was well done. If it was a stock color I would think it was factory

X1 ftw!!!, you'll love it man! They are some fun bikes! Their simplicity makes them super easy to work on!

I sure hope so. My first undertaking will be an oil change and then adjusting the idle. I'm used to working on cars so it's gonna be a bit of a reprogram mentally.

Man it's a breeze on that bike. Pretty sure there's an idle screw under the left bread box cover, and the oils change takes about 10 minutes. Do you have a manual or anything ?
