I have a 2008 Buell firebolt xb12 I just put in a k&n filter. I am thinking about putting a d&d pipe on my bike and getting an ignition upgrade and a download. I also want to put the 1125r mirror on it to but I am trying to find a away to cover the hole where the turn sign is at on the bike and putt on angel eyes on it to. I do not know if anyone has any other good ideas what to do to my bike

Start coloring parts and dressing her up. how long did the bike take to recognize and adapt to the K&N i have an 08 12S and will be putting one in soon. just did breather, wanted to let it register that before I change the filter.

No, I have not had the chance to get out try my k&n on the road. I live in Wisconsin, we got snow right now lol I am happy with the k&n though. with the ignition upgrade I want to put a new ecm in it and I forgot what my cuz called it he was a master tec. for buell. I just want to know what other people ideas and like what they have done with there bikes

Have 06 xb12r. Breather re-route is a must. Cleans up the lower end a little. Plus all that fluid doesn't get recycled back in to the engine. you'll find all that info on here by searching. I put catch can on oil cooler to catch and drain fluid. You already have k&n. I have Speacial Ops pipe on mine. Dual tipped-black and kept servo functional in exhaust. Almost as loud as D&D. I got it all tuned through Xoptiinside.com. Mike knows his stuff. Bike revs so hard and fast now! If you do add multipule mods. suggest tuning...again search on here and you'll find plenty of info. ECMspy and all that jazz.

Forgot to add...once you do k&n with breather re-route, I also did open air box kit. Removes hard shell over air filter. I dremmeled design out on cover, used gutter mesh house screen, painted gold/amber and sealed in. Then put weather stripping to finish off. Not bad for home jobber. Love these bikes...all kinds off things to do. Extremelow has a sick bike...

ya, i want to get 1125r mirrors on my bike i think it would look bad ass when i work for ukes hd, i saw a buell come in with that on it it made is look nice

i have the 1125r mirrors on mine. just be aware that it makes the mirrors pretty much useless, you cant see anything. as for filling the turn signal hole, just put a bolt through it. it still needs to be attached to the fairing stay.

what are you doing for an ignition upgrade?

i want to putt in a race ecm and download in it. i believe that is what my cuz in talking about he was a mater tech. for buell he know it better then me. for the mirrors did u have to do any thing really to make it fit or work?

Firebolt3030, I'm still working on mods on my 08 firebolt, but I'll show you what I have so far, hope it helps. FYI; ecmspy will not tune 08 & newer, I think Directlink does though.

bolt08 nice bike. Love that white/blue combo on the 08. Very clean vents too[up]...and may I ask, what pipe is that? You create? and you are correct! Gotta use Directlink for 08's and newer.

i have the 1125 mirrors and a d&d...you can get by with just the exhaust but i would recomend getting it tuned....ecmspy will tune your 2008 bike...but only if it is early 2008....i was actually lucky enough to get it tuned with only ecmspy ...but if it wont then yes directlink will work as well as erikbuellracing is selling an 08+ race ecm that you can get as is or with a cable and a program to tune

Absolutely SICK airbox mod Seattle! How hard was it to make all those cuts and what weatherstripping did you use?

SeattleBuellMan, Yes, I made the pipe myself, very happy with it so far. Thanks for the comments [up] Your 06 looks sweet too, I really like what you did with the license plate, do you have a post on it or can you elaborate on exactly what you did? Not trying to jack this thread or anything but that is the look I want for my tag too.

Used dremmel to cut out design on airbox. Got weatherstripping from an autopaint store....? Looked all around and finally came across some I liked there. Had to shave inside edge on airbox, about a half inch back, to get stripping to stay. Used house gutter mesh wire for screen and painted. Then applied screen with heat resistant glue. Had to mold screen a little. Love the sound of the snorkle when rompin on it!!!

Also used dremmel to cut plate bracket off of bike. I cut bracket just under the blinkers and grinded those down. I grinded down corners on bracket where I cut to make nice rounded corners. Flip over to see two sets of three vertical braces that stop bracket from bending. I grinded aross those to allow me to flatten out bracket. Grinded set closer to mounting holes. Must flatten to prevent plate from absorbing tire. So basically trimmed down, turned it backwards, flattened out little bit more and remounted. Oh also had to get new plate light. Wired mine into tail ligths, drilled small hole and wahla! Pretty easy! Can get some pics in morning for little more clarity if needed.

Bolt- How much would it cost for you to make another exhaust like that? I swear my baby looks like she has a gut lol.

Here's my secret project I order some flame mirrors from Ebay sice we have FIREBOLTS and I'm going to paint the chrome either a transitioning black to orange or straight black.

i have an o0812r and i did the same modification a D&D and a K&n my harley shop had a program they bought from american sportbike for that combo of parts and my bike works great i mean with the program instaled it still took a couple of miles for the bike to run just write and believe my that D&D is as loud if not louder than some harleys defenitaly turns heads

ramjr55, not exactly sure on cost, but I am planning to do another one soon. I say soon, but it may take a year lol. I have been working out of town and only home weekends (& my honey-do list takes 3 days a week) so unfortunately a lot of the mods that I had planned are now on the back burner [sad] hopefully I'll get a chance to get back on it though. I had some good plans too; custom paint (airbrushing) etc. I'll git-r-done, it just might take a little while [up]
