Any interest in a cross- country photo thread?

Long story short, I'm riding my 09 Uly XP from SoCal to Dover, DE via OR, ID, WY, MT, SD, MN, WI, Great Lakes, Adirondacks, and to Laconia bike week. Then home to DE. If there is any interest, I could post up a couple photos and ride reports every couple of days.

Are you going to stop at buell home coming may 29 thru the 31st in east troy WI and surrounding areas? Might be too soon in you trip.

Try and get some names of Buell owners, or members along the way, just in case you need help. Once you get close to the East coast you'll have me and probably a few others.

I will be at St. Paul H-D getting steering head bearings and isolation mounts replaced on the 30May.. If I can get the bike back, maybe I can make it.

Took the Uly out for a shakedown cruise. Glad I did,the shifter linkage screw was lost on the busy Ortega Hwy. Luckily Ace hardware had the right s.s. Screw and nylock nut. My pillion helmet was relocated to the rack. If all goes as planned, I will ride North with my son tomorrow morning. We are planning on making Monterey via Hwy. 1.

Bob: i'll send you a PM with my phone #'s. if anything breaks during your trip, and doubtful that it will....but if it does and you can't source it thru a local H-D dealer....i'll either have it or i'll run over to the plant and fetch it and overnite it to you wherever you are.

My son lives in Tustin. We made it to Monterey, Calif. tonight on our first leg. Wet and cool here.

We hit a good rainstorm yesterday and it is pouring here in Monterey this morning. So we are drying out our gear by the fire.

I have one concern about the Uly. While traveling above the speed limit up the Cuesta grade in San Luis Obispo, the clutch slipped when I tried to accelerate uphill. It slipped each time I tried to accelerate quickly in 4th gear. Any advice for me?

Either the clutch is worn out (and will get worse), or hopefully the clutch cable is adjusted too tight.

Try loosening the clutch cable adjustment and see if that helps.
