finally got around to fixing my clutch issues.....its fried. Probably because I ride like an a-hole and I love wheelies and the fast tight twisties along the Delaware river. Any suggestions for a replacement clutch for an 04 firebolt? Would I just use the same as a Sporty? or is it a diff part number. I just want to thank you guys again, your help is invaluable....I am working on increasing my knowledge so I may contribute more technical know-how to the site...thanks again

I ran a Barnett kit with good results & would recommend it to others...

If you want to upgrade your clutch, go with the OEM replacement Barnett carbon clutch kit. It is part number 306-30-20015. Barnett does not list it for a XB. They list it for a 2009-2013 H-D XR1200 which uses the same clutch as the XB. (PER ERICZ!)

Wiggle is right. The 2009-2013 XRs share the same clutch assembly with all years of the XB (2003-2010). They use a unique clutch plate pack that only Barnett sells a correct kit for. You could always buy OEM too.

I'd add that in my experience, I didn't feel a significant difference in performance between the two. The Barnett kit offered similar progressive bite & engagement to the OEM pack.

You'll note however that Barnett specifically recommends against using the HD Formula+ primary fluid that the manual recommends.
