I'm going on a 1500 mile road trip next week and I'm wondering if I should get a new tire before the trip. So... what do you all think? Now or later?

Hi Dave,if there will be a lot of nice twisties i would keep it. A new tyre takes +- 800km to get rid of the mould release used in manufacture = less grip until it is rubbed off. my 10c worth. Enjoy[up][smirk]

I really don't know how twisty it's going to be.

Does anyone know where the wear bar is on a corsa III? I cant find it anywhere on the tire!

change it...you'll be on the wire after 1000 miles, unless you're riding like a granny :D

there's no bar, once the center profile starts fading, you'll need to schedule a tire change. ;)

Your not going to make it 1500 on that tire, sorry.

I would say 500 max if it was mine.

I ran one of my pirelli's to the cord and it scared me how thin the tire was when it came off. Like paper.

Im on my fifth rear pirelli if your needing references.

Be safer to change that bad boy... The 800km thing is a bit much usually 100 miles is plenty run-in with decent ambient temperature.

You could prob stretch that tire for the trip, but like lefox says you would have to take it super easy and you prob be on the cord when you get back.

the lack off where bars is why i didn't get the corsa iii i went with the dunlop road smart duel compound and i can tell when it is almost done.
not to mention every shop here stocks them.

The last time I tried to do a burn out I almost looped it. My tiny ass isn't enough to hold this beast down. I haven't tried Craig Jones' stoppie burn out yet.

Just hold the front break and lean forward. Or push your front tire against a wall, hold the brake and rip that tire off the rim :D :D

Yeah I guess I didn't lean forward enough. As far as putting it against a wall, I'm almost 100% sure my buell will climb a wall if it had the chance.
