Just idle thoughts...(no pun intended)

I was on the bike the other day, and just missed a signal cycle. This signal takes over 7 minutes to cycle. While I was sitting there debating weather I should kill the bike, or just idle it out, I started noticing that my legs were getting HOT.

By the time I took off from the light, I was wondering if there was a optimal rpm/speed to cool the engine down back to 'normal' temperatures. a combination of rpm and speed that wouldn't produce more heat, while going fast enough to keep good air flow over the motor.

Does anyone else here do such a thing, or think about it for that matter?

Get a ceramic coated header, special ops heat blanket, and blow on it really hard with your mouth :D

All I do is make sure that I let the bike run at a low rpm, nothing over 3grand, for the last couple minutes and right before killing the bike I will let the bike idle for 10-15 seconds, then hit the kill switch.

Just my way of making sure it isn't to hot for the shut down or flooded out for the next start up.

ride near the area where your torque is @ max...

your engine has less difficulty to pull you and your bike...for most, that would be around 3200rpm
