Try ASB for one

I have the rear and want the front but can't afford to shell out the funds :(

sorry no galfer pix

I am fairly sure that's the free spirits front exit exhaust

I would like to know opinions on the floating rear, also way out of my price range but it is the one I REALLY wanted.
does it improve modulation at all?

way old topic but I found a picture of a Galfer Wave Rotor on a buell

board-profile.cgi

it belongs to Terrys1980 on badweb

and I am still curious about the floating rear..... anybody?
bueller?

These from free spirits were the only other option I saw when ordering my braking rotors...I like them better but couldn't justify spending that much. Was having a hard enough time justifing spending as much as I did on the braking rotors!

Spoke to Keppi about the ALTH Rotors and he said there really is no street performance difference between them an the BraKing Waves, he actually said for street use the ALTH were not as good since they wear really fast. Probably why they are a race rotor, he mentioned 5,000mi on them and they are done. Also made my choice much easier, I love the look but I need something that will last more than a season.

Miami

the free spirits rotors are the ALTH rotors on the black bike above. :D[up]

thanks for the info X, makes me glad I went with braking[smirk]
its funny that they wear out so fast considering they claim to harden them all the way through and not just the surface.
This is not just on the surface layer, like most commercial rotor, and therefore dependability and durability are improved and ensured.
ouch!

Yeah, I just saw those when I got home, none of the pics keppi posted would display on my government computer at work...

Keppi said the ALTH come straight from Italy, also he said fitment has always been an issue, like the Poison Ivy bike above had to have a refabed hidden bracket since the bolt pattern is so tight to the swing arm.

Wow these rotors are sounding worse and worse, glad keppi warned us about them because I was still thinking about the floating rear.
(but not now)
I do think free spirits warns about the bracket though, so good on free spirits at least. [up]

Just reread his message and the rotors wear out before the %k mark I thought, he said 3k and it was km, so that is only about 2k miles. I asked Keppi if it was worth it and he plan and simply said No, it is overkill. So I am going by his word since IMO he has the worlds cleanest custom Buell, and not to mention has done a few complete custom Buell builds. Oh and he owns/runs a website specific to Buell performance, so his word is good in my book [up]

here is some of what he mentioned

Both rotors just optical manners...no more performance
the front rotor doesn´t work correctly as it is delivered from Italy,
causes rubbing...like a damaged bearing in the steering head.
If you use the rear rotor with the oem Buell XB Brake you have to check clearance of the rotor...the Floating Rotor is very close to the rear Brake Bolts, if U use the hidden Brake you have to check this also...
so we changed the design of the hidden Brake Bracket.

they wore down after app. 3000 Kilometers after hard riding in the German Alps... :)
