ANYONE EVER SEAFOAMED A BUELL? WATCHING YOUTUBE SEEN A THING ON SEAFOAM JUST THOUGHT I WOULD ASK:p

Yes I have used it to keep the fuel system tidy. Use according to directions. As a matter of fact I use it in every engine I have even lawn mowers. I also use Lucas Synthetic oil additive with Amsoil in the crankcase.

Just my 4 cents. (inflation)

Regards,

BR

sweet now I can't decide to do it or not, it was suggested to me to help with some pre-ignition I'm having perhaps due to carbon buildup.

I have used it in my truck a couple times, but never had a reason to use it on the buell.

i use it every 6 months or so. mix as per the instructions on the fuel. just to keep all the fuel system nice and clean.

is this 'preignition' something sudden or been getting progressively worse?

if youre getting ignition knock, the AFR or timing need to be adjusted.

what year/model/mods/mileage?

04/xb12s/full race kit, breather, and airbox delete/35k

How do I adjust the timing? I am getting a knocking at idle that evens out with applying the throttle...

tech....thats a different 'knocking' that what im talking about.

what youre hearing is normal for our engines. its powertrain noise. nothing to be alarmed about.

service manual will help to verify and adjust STATIC timing.

ive reworked and manipulated the individual tmiing curves for each cylinder and it helped the bike in all aspects of driveablity and performance, idle, temps, etc. the OEM timing curve sux. ....well, its good to pass emissions and what not...but not fun for riding. haha.

I dunno it's an embarassing sound, sounds like it's tearing itself apart. I know what you're saying but I don't think they sound that way new, even if it's just normal engine noise for that mileage, I may want it serviced and rebuilt if need be...
