Anyone ever see this happen??? How and why??

On the parkway riding my 05 xb12r and bam! The o2 sensor bung just blows out of the header. Melted the seat, tail fairing, air box and my pants! What the hell? Has this ever happened to anyone else. I know the pipes have rusted and split under wrap but no wrap, no rust. I will post pics tomorrow when I pull it apart.

Yep, I've repaired a few, so it definitely happens.
