Have an XB9s as my thirds running motorcycle (had a 1940-something Indian in pieces that my dad gave me years ago but it was an overwhelming project).
Rode a Royal Enfield Classic 500 for a while. A friend crashed it, and it scared him. I repaired it and got it re-titled. The worst part of the project was the many trips to the DMV to get it certified as road worthy again.
Resuscitated a Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 that a mechanic gave up on. Once I got it running, I hated it. Despised the transmission. Sold it quickly.
I picked up a 2003 xb9s. Wish my Dad lived to see me find it. He was mostly a Harley man and was wanting me to pick up a Harley for years, but I just didn't love the low tech vibe. He left his Fat Boy to my brother, which made sense as it was stolen and the police coincidentally recovered it on my brother's birthday.
I love the combination of the low tech, tuned Harley V-Twin with the high tech chassis. Also, as my neighbor pointed out, the XB9s looks like something out of Cyberpunk.
All I've done to the bike is put new tires on it, replaces the fuel pump sock filter (and scratched up the swing arm in the process).
