My bike had blue ones installed by the first owner. I haven't taken them off but I don't use them either because I heard they may be illegal. Anyone know anything about that?

Laws are different from state to state. You will need to check it out further with the locals. Here in Oklahoma you can only use red/amber in the rear and white amber in the front. I received a $183.00 ticket for two small green ones I had on my 300zx wiper pods a few years back.
If the vehicle is not being operated on public streets there is no violation.

These are used everywhere I ride. I see people getting away with it all the time. I got a ticket for mine so I do not use them anymore on motor vehicles.
