There is a company all over ebay, Jackets4bikes thet sell leather goods,my buddy is looking at there 2pc suit that is going for $219,ya I know you get what you pay for,I run Joe Rocket leathers,Alpinstar,and Icon and know I got what I paid for,but if he's on a tight budget,are cheap leathers better than no leathers? Not sure what direction to send him in and he's dieing to ride,his wife bitches about him riding with us without them,think we feel his pain[smirk],ahyway any feedback,reviews,someone have these?Thank in advance.

Are they the same ones that sell the $50 jackets? Cheap leathers are better than no leathers, but a textile jacket and riding pants are better than cheap leathers. You can buy textile jackets on sale online for $75-100 all day long, and I think decent pants cost aorund $100 already.

cheap leather are cheap for MANY reasons,
like very poor ,loose, sewing/stitching of the seams which means they can come apart very easy. and very thin leather and sometimes leathers that are from cows that have imperfections in the hide like from healed cuts from barbed wire and such. and most cheap leathers have poor quality control of end product , I.E. you get what you pay for... textile would be good way to go if you cant afford good leathers.

your better off checking out motorcycle superstore, they have specials all the time. got a 150+ jacket for 80 including gloves that were on sale! free 3 day shipping too. deals on everything depending on what your looking for and when they discount stuff, seems to rotate

Ya,this is what I have been telling him all along,you get what you pay for,I've highsided at Thunderhill Raceway at 105 mph in entry level Joe Rocket leathers and had no issues with how they were made,low price for a reasion,trying to get him to go on Craigslist and get a name brand used set.Thanks for the feed back,will show him.

So far, I love my Icon "Contra" textile, its got great ventilation and the back armor is upgradeable, tell him to save his money and buy a $200 jacket or for $60 he can get that Icon field armor for his torso..then he can buy the elbows and knees later on.
