I have been loving the look of the Variant and tried one on in Fl when i was down there on vacation as I havnt been able to find a local dealer. Ended up finding one today that had the one i wanted in stock and all sizes so i could compare. He also gave me a great price so that sealed the deal.

I wanted a variant so bad but it turns out I have a gigantic head. I could barely fit in a 2XL and noone in town had a 3XL that I could try on. I tried on a Speed And Strength SS2500 and it fit great so I bought that instead. Very cool helmet and the beak doesn't pull on my head near as much as I thought it would. Let me know how that one works out for you.

I don't blame you. It really is a great looking helmet. I would have loved to have one but alas, helmet manufacturers don't like guys with gigantic heads [sad]

I like the look of the bubble shield and helmet itself, looks like a Fighter jet helmet, but i dont get the plastic visor and air ducts, this is just an opinion unvarnished, but that plastic visor looks tacked on as an afterthought,
Kind of like a big Aero tail wing thing-a-jig you see on cheesy kids tuner cars with fart pipes.

I will reserve judgement however, if someone can explain a bit more about it, does it have some sort of REAL aerodynamic effect where you ride that much more stable, increase rider focus by 20%, lower ET track times by 15%, lower your taxes, Increase coital activity by 30% eliminates high speed wobbles and tank slappers?

I have had a couple helmets before with visors and couldnt stand riding with them, acted as a big airdam and was very distracting, (Bell open face full helmet and a KBC 3/4 helmet). so maybe these helmets have real function with that plastic dealy-bobber on there, so i would like to hear real world opinions.

I too have been going back and forth on a dual sport helmet... I have narrowed it down to a couple and was wanting options from you guys...

I am also really looking into buying the Icon battle scar helmet. I did buy a cheep DS helmet. The Bilt... And I like it for speeds under 70 mph but much more than that it does put some strain on my neck. I also would love to here any feed back on the Icon. I'm sure it's better than most out there and it is the best looking in my opinion. May just buy one and see for myself...
