Well i got this kit as a present from an ex and instead of giving it back, im going to use it cause im a good guy[up].. Well it came today finally and it tells me to do a breather mod, So i can run this kit.. I was just going to do a step by step breather mod from the big thread that was started, or should i just use the instructions on the ASB open airbox?

either or is good, with the open air kit it will need to be done regardless of which method you use. Got it installed yet..... =P

not yet.. I wasnt sure if there were any advatanges or disadvantages to either one, but it will be done by the end of the weekend

just installed the asb kit this morning, already had a breather mod done, so can't tell ya if their way is better or not, but as for the kit itsell, it fits great and is really stable, got a nice seal all the way around the air cleaner, sure you will be happy with it

originally i was trying to decided weather or not I was going to get this kit or not but since my bike probably has the old style 9 airbox with out the nipple I would have to buy an airbox to chop up any way as well as the bolts and hoses. Plus I would have to try to try to figure out how to get the screw holes on spaced just right. So I am thinking that this kit will be a much better option for me over making it from scratch.

i just put mine on and it was prett easy and straight forward.. Only question is, in the directions it says not to leave the fuel vent line in the airbox with it and i cant see anyway of it not being in there..

I did mine a couple of weeks ago. Love the sound that it makes. You guys are lucky...I bought mine second hand and didn't have any instructions so it took awhile to figure out where the random pieces went.

I have a 08 and have the servo motor. So i just used a very long threaded bolt and cut my factory top airbox to minic the ASB. Hence making my own, oh9bolt and I did them at the same time. The sound is awsome. Sounds so damn amazing.
