I think the confusion comes from the fact that in the list of mods done on the first bike it was never mentioned that the rim was widened.
But.......
The first bike posted by xtremelow states WELDING and WIDENING of the swingarm and has pictures of a modded swingarm and a bunch of other stuff, so how someone came to this conclusion
I thought the 200 was the biggest you can have with out making changes?
had to have been from a lack of reading or paying attention lol because there are a lot of changes mentioned in the very first bike posted and each post afterwords talks about the mods needed to make it work. Not trying to be a jerk, just pointing out the obvious which was apparently missed so no one goes out and buys a 240 thinking its just a matter of installing it on their stock bike.....
The least amount of work for a 240: widened rim, chain conversion. No spacing out or welding of any kind.
If you want to keep a belt with a 240: need a widened rim, spaced out both pully's and tensioner, widened swing arm, spaced out rider pegs and brake bracket (might as well space out the other side peg bracket as well so the bike remains symetrical).
You can save a buck or two if you buy the seperate pieces for a chain conversion and find a wheel shop to widen your wheel for you. Or, if you have $$ to throw away and would rather not do all the research and buying stuff seperately just buy the Grand Stand kit and bolt on. Keep in mind, your going to pay extra for powder coating the rear wheel if you want any color other than black, and if you want both wheels to match in color you'll have to get both powder coated. Also note..... you should use a SCG rear shock because the height of the rear wheel will raise the back end giving your front forks even less trail then stock (which is pretty darn shallow in fork angle and trail to begin with) so the bike isn't twitchy as hell.
I'm not interested in doing the 240 kit though I think it looks cool (I'm more interested in keeping the corner ability), I guess I just pay attention better then some lol.
Sorry for cluttering the original posters thread, but to answer his question, I'd personally get a SCG rear shock or at least get the lowering shock collar I think available from

OR, if you don't want to lower the rear, you can purchase a fork angle and trail kit made by Free Spirit. It's a set of concentric bearings that replace the stock steering bearings and adds 2 or 3 degress to the fork angle and adds trail. This kit should do the trick if you like the rear to be super high that a big 240 creates.
