Are all XB12SS exhaust interchangeable?

I would like to know if all xb12ss exhaust are interchangeable? Im trying to get a used exhaust to replace my jardine on my 09 xb12ss and do not know if i need to stick to my yr or if i can use the exhuast off other yrs. i know i need the valve tho, but dont know if they are all the same valves. any help would be great. 1) Your Jardine doesn't use the valve, only the stock can does

2) You can use any year or model XB exhaust

depends on where in the world you are
up to 2008 euro models had a 2" inlet into the silencer
2008 onwards had a 2 1/2" inlet

I have a spare D&D exhaust that fit on my XB12SS. I advertised it and a guy wants to know if it will fit on a Firebolt. Does anyone know if they are interchangeable?

No, each year has a different sized outlet at the header...

And requires a band clamp matching the exhaust years build date and will rub your back tire if you don't... :stupid:

The XB9 exhaust did not have the valve and associated hardware...
I'm gathering up all the stock muffler parts because I find the Jardine on my new-to-me Buell XB12S is too loud as well. Someone told me about a quiet kit for the Jardine which is basically a plug that reduces the outlet diameter. They are $50 on Amazon so I'm going to give that a try. I'll post my opinion of it here after I've tried it.
