So there are street helmets and boots for kids, but very few street type jackets...only one I could find that was textile with armor was this one, but I'd much rather buy someplace where I can have my kiddo try things on

Anyone already gone through the trouble of finding a good armored, textile jacket for their ~7 year old kid?

Your best bet is probably to check the women's section of a dealership, you might be able to find a very small adults jacket.

Do you know anyone who can sew? I know you can but armor by itself. You might do well to buy some armor and have it sewn into a long sleeve t shirt and then have them wear that under a strong jacket.

My little girl is 7 and loves to ride with me too, she's a great rider but the only jacket I could find for her was a harley leather jacket which I believe it is an imitation because it was given to us by a friend and doesn't look authentic. If you can find one with armor please let me know!

If looking for kids gear, check motoX type stuff. Alot of kids stuff is made for dirt bikes. Might find something that will work for you.

I know they make a lot of kids pads like chest/shoulder pads. You could get her one of those and some normal kids elbow pads instead of actual CE armor.

My wife has a small mesh and it is giant on my daughter...was hoping an extra small might be close, but no such luck. I do like the idea of making something, just not sure how feasible that'll be...

Thought about the moto-x type gear, but really want a street jacket.

Found this over in auzzie land...looks like the best bet so far...

They have mesh jackets with elbow, shoulder, and back ce armor.

I found one for my 7 year old son at Natural Riders. They are a Canadian company that travel around and set up shop for shop for short times and then move to the next town. Seems like a decent coat. Full armor and waterproof to boot. Seems to be decent quality

Here is an Australian company that sells armored mesh jackets for kids...looks pretty good!

Also ran across a youth jacket in cycle gear this morning while looking at kids boots...the Tourmaster Jett 2. It didn't look bad, but looked like it might be a little too warm for the Vegas heat.

I don't think they have a website. They are based In Montreal, Canada if that helps. The Jacket I bought msy not be so good in Vegas either. It is vented but still can get pretty warm. In Newfoundland we don't have to worry too many days about excessive heat.

So the only youth armored mesh jacket I could find was the one in Australia, and they wanted another $50+ for shipping which put it out of my price range. Going with this instead, which has better armor anyway, is mesh for the hot weather, and my daughter can wear what ever she wants over it...
