I like to build stuff....

20' x 7'. Did 99.5% of it solo, took 6 months off and on working.
( had a friend hold 2 pieces of hardi-board up while I screwed it in)



Did a kitchen remodel, wife and I did 100% of everything ourselves.

Kool stuff! I have been thinking about getting into furniture building.. I walked into Roomful Express and saw that they were selling plain old dinner tables for a grand+... I could make the same thing for $50 + time.. Talk about profit...

Also my great grandfather wanted to teach me how to do leather work.. I wasn't interested at the time.. Then he died and someone else got all of his leather tools.. Now I wish I would have learned from him. sucks

I build **** like this at work. It is art to me because I take nothing and make something functional for us at the mill.

I also do shut like this around the house all the time. I did all the cedar work from scratch including the flower boxes. We have a total of 6 of the with hand built shutter on each of the windows.

I guess you can call it art. I prefer to work with metal though. Much more fun and the tools are ten times cooler.
